Risk management

Design and implementation of Risk management processes

No company is immune to value-destroying events, no matter how well they are identified. However, it is possible to keep them within «acceptable» parameters, or in line with the company’s risk appetite.
A Risk Management model helps companies identify any risk event and distinguish between the risks the company should assume and those it should transfer.
Risk itself should not always be perceived with a «negative» connotation; in fact, in many cases, it generates opportunities and is a constant driver of new business. Therefore, it is important to mitigate the lack of clarity in identifying risks and their potential impacts, as this hinders their proper and timely management.
At Gelso, we can support you throughout the entire Risk Management process, which begins with identifying the risks that affect your company, continues with measurement (residual and inherent), and culminates in the creation of a heat map. It is crucial to have a Chief Risk Officer (CRO) who will ensure the continuity of the process.
As part of our comprehensive Risk Management services, we can monitor the company’s risk model if it does not have a CRO.

Design and implementation of compliance models

An Integrity program allows organizations to identify and manage the operational and legal risks they face in their activities, establishing mechanisms for prevention, management, control, and response.
Among the main integrity risks to which companies are exposed are corruption, discriminatory acts, data protection violations, and non-compliance with tax, environmental, and labor regulations, among others.
The occurrence of any of these events causes severe damage to the company, and the organization cannot evade responsibility. Therefore, compliance with regulations is increasingly important for organizations, both within their workforce and throughout their value chain.
At Gelso, we support clients in identifying their main compliance risks and defining their key mitigation strategies. This process is essential for an Integrity program.
As part of our services, we can act as the Compliance Officer, leading the integrity program, developing initiatives to improve the ethical culture, implementing reporting channels, leading internal investigations, and serving on the company’s ethics committee.

Design and implementation of a crisis manual

A crisis is a situation with a high level of uncertainty that affects the core activities and/or credibility of an organization and requires urgent and coordinated measures, as it could jeopardize the company’s continuity.
Crises are generated by unexpected and/or unavoidable events, occurring internally or externally, generally of a catastrophic nature, which can affect people and critical assets and could expose us to public scrutiny, impacting the public’s perception of us and potentially affecting our image and social standing, even threatening the organization’s long-term survival.
At Gelso, we help you prepare a plan containing the practical guidelines a company should follow during and after a crisis to avoid or mitigate its negative effects. We provide a clear and precise action plan that people can easily remember amidst the chaos of the moment.
We prepare the company in communication before, during, and after a crisis, ensuring a timely response and minimizing the impact on its reputation. A well-managed crisis becomes an opportunity.
